Armstrong Retires, Hamilton Suspened

Lance Armstrong

Six-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong will retire on July 24, one day after the Tour de France. At a press conference in Atlanta, Georgia today, 33 year-old Armstrong announced that he would not be continuing for another year, confirming his statements earlier this year that "four months, and it's over."

Later, while off-camera, Lance may or may-not have been quoted saying, "I guess it's better to go out on a high-note than get busted for the doping I've been doing all these years."

Tyler Hamilton

Another one bites the dust... Olympic TT Gold Medalist, Lige-Bastogne-Lige champ, and all around tough gent, Tyler Hamilton was found guilty of doping by United States Anti-Doping Agency. The 34 year-old received the maximum two-year suspension for a first-time doping offense. It should be noted since Hamilton was accused of doping last fall, he has been infallible regarding his innocence. So that means he is either nuts (there was a good deal of evidence against him) or the USADA truly sucks - or both.
