I have compiled a list of 10 songs (not albums) that I have been listening to quite frequently in the last month. Clicking on the album cover will take you to Amazon.com listing for that particular recording.

All samples are in Windows Media 9 format.

"Karma" by Alicia Keys. I have owned this album for over a year and just now started listening to it. The little break-beat in this song is fantastic. Sample

"The River" by Bruce Springsteen. The Boss spins a hopeless tale of love and reality. Sample

"A Better Future" (Remix by Air) by David Bowie. While the album "Heathen" sucked, this remix - available on the Limited Edition recording - is worth investigating. Sample

"December 4th" by DJ Danger Mouse. The Beatles mixed with Jay-Z. Sounds like it should suck - it doesn't. This entire album is available for free. Download

"I Want You" by Elvis Costello. I own three "Best Of" Costello collections - yet not a single standard album. This track stands out among them all. Sample

"Drips" by Eminem. This track features Obie Trice's tale of STDs. It may contain the foulest lyrics ever written. Sample

"Surfing Magazines" by The Go-Betweens. I normally don't listen to this modern alt-rock soundy stuff. But this particular song tugs at my ear. MP3 Sample

"I Never Dreamed" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I don't know how I have missed this track for so long. I think I own the entire (pre-crash) Skynyrd collection. Sample

"Not Alone Anymore" by The Traveling Willburys. This album is out-of-print. Do whatever it takes to download/buy/steal it. No Sample

"Sing Our Own Song" by UB40. British synth reggae. This song packs a-lot of power behind all those synthesizers. Sample
